About katie123

I have the same problem. I am 50 and my teeth are appalling. I cannot afford the procedure to get them fixed. The upper teeth alone, that cracked from mercury, would be $10,000. I cannot get a loan, and I cannot smile or apply for work either. This is a nightmare. I have looked for grants; there are none. I can't locate a school like UCLA in Illinois. I know UCLA has a dental clinic (I used to live in California) that does free or lost-cost dental work, or at least used to. Students do the work. I can't find anything like that out there. I wish you luck. You are not alone, and believe me, I completely understand.

About Dayla50

I am seeking cosmetic dental assistance.  Because of mercury fillings that were old and dangerous I had to have all of my molars pulled.  I had a breakdown of my teeth from  the fillings causing them to crack prior to having them pulled.  I now have a very serious cosmetic challenge that is preventing me from employment, due to the severity of my appearance.  Cosmetic correction will cost almost $10,000 for the upper teeth alone.  The deteriorating economy has not helped, as I had planned to borrow the money to pay for the rest of the dental work.  Alike the majority of Americans, I am unable to afford the procedure.  I have searched grants.gov; there is no assistance.  If anyone can offer information about a dental school that assists people in need on a sliding scale, or perhaps a private grant, please share the information.  I am 50 years old; still young enough to work, and I would like to contribute to society.  However, competition is great and there is no one who would want to see me representing their company with my teeth in such poor repair, even if I were to be seldomly seen.
